Shikshan Shulka Samiti is the committee formed by the Maharashtra state government to regularize the fees of technical and higher educational courses. Parivartan observed lapses in transparency in its procedure of deciding the fees. According to the procedure, the Samiti asks the colleges to submit their proposed fee-structure for it to be assessed and approved.

We asked the Samiti to upload these proposed fee-structures and their worksheets, on its website for the public. 

Parivartan sought help from the then MP from Maharashtra Supriya Sule and she sent a letter to the Education Minister. Post this we tried to take up this issue with the then Higher and Technical Education Minister, Mr. Suresh Tope.

After seeing complete inaction, an RTI application was filed, followed by an appeal to the State Information Commission. The Commissioner passed a judgement in our favour thus ordering the Samiti to display the information on the website.

This ensured transparency thus benefitting thousands of students across 2500 colleges.
