ABOUT PARIVARTAN
Be the change you want to see!
The attacks of 26/11 had just taken place and the nation was mourning and in shock. With a sentiment of “there has to be change” which resonated across the youth, a bunch of college-going youngsters from Pune came together to bring thoughts into action and established Parivartan. They chose to focus on governance mainly because be it any other field such as education, environment, traffic, infrastructure, labor laws - any paradigm shift in any of these sectors can only happen through good governance at all levels.
The idea was to take democracy beyond elections and create diligent citizen groups to keep a check on the elected government representatives and the bureaucracy. To ask the right questions, to keep the politicians answerable and to increase citizens’ participation in the process of democracy - Parivartan set off on a journey of propagating good governance. By participating in the government’s good initiatives and by criticizing its misdoings, Parivartan has strived to improve civic life from 2008.
